I wrote these Learning Outcomes from the standpoint of a Maintenance Manager responsible for the maintenance of a typical manufacturing plant where the skills profiles of engineers need to be matched to the dynamic requirements of site production and safety. This course is suitable for Maintenance Fitters, Line Engineers, Apprentices, and anyone needing to upskill into the area of Electrical Maintenance. How's it done ?

Media and Feedback

There are ten main units of self study. The learner has a set of course-notes and works sequentially through the Online media of 10 Units. There is an online test after each Unit and the learner can’t progress to the next Unit until the test has been passed. Tutorial assistance and feedback is provided digitally via email, Zoom or others. Lets have a look at some of the advantages available with online training The materials are designed to help people learn at their own pace, not too fast or too slow and so Online Learning gives freedom in the pace they take and the place they learn, even when deadlines have been set for Assessment. There’s also freedom to fit in with work commitments, also whether to work collaboratively or on their own. Some people request very little support and will appreciate an opportunity to research their learning content to an even greater depth as the materials progress. This is a very positive indicator of strong development emerging within the team. The Self Assessment tests following each of the 10 Units are designed to allow learners to get things wrong in the comfort of privacy and have the benefit of immediate quality feedback for each incorrect answer, feedback of course, being the cornerstone of effective Online Learning.

  • When can I begin the course ?

    On receipt of the course fee, we set up your personal database and dashboard on the Training Platform, post off your course-notes and you're ready to begin.

  • Is there a Course Exam ?

    No, however, there is an online test following each of the Learning Modules. Your answers are marked by the system software and given a score. All of this data can then be reviewed by yourself.

  • What about Assessment

    There is a 1-day Practical Assessment in Blackburn Lancs, this is costed within the course fee. The 1-day Assessment day includes a review plus four Practical Exercises which involve fault finding, testing for dead and circuit construction, On satisfactory completion, you will receive a certificate and a pack listing all of your completed Learning Outcomes.

  • How much is the course ?

    The course costs just £680 + vat This includes the 1day Assessment Event in Blackburn Lancashire.
